Winter Storage

The Chicago Harbors are proud to offer winter boat storage at 31st Street Harbor and Montrose Harbor to provide year-round solutions to owning a boat in Chicago.  Our pricing is competitive with the added bonus of the convenience of being along the lakefront and flexible haul-out and launching options.  Storage space fills quickly and we recommend reserving your space early in the summer.  Haul-out typically is in November and we begin launching boats in April.

When you store with the Chicago Harbors, you can make arrangements for early drop-off and late pick-up of their boats at your convenience.  We also don’t require boaters to be present for launching and haul-out of their boats.  Storage prices include your haul-out, launching, blocking and standing your boat or boaters may also elect to have their boat stored on their own cradle or trailer.  We offer storage options for cradles and trailers.

Mooring + Winter Storage Discount

We offer annual contracts for combined summer mooring and winter storage.  Returning boaters must sign up for annual contracts during the renewal period, prior to the February 15th invoice due date.  New boaters must sign up with their initial invoice payment if they are assigned and make payment in full by July 15th.

The annual contract allows customers who keep their boat in the Chicago Harbors to make three payments from February to July. Furthermore, 31st Street, 59th Street, Jackson Park Inner and Jackson Park Outer boaters can receive a 15% discount while Montrose, Belmont, Diversey, DuSable, Monroe and Burnham boaters can receive a 5% discount on outdoor storage.  The discount is applied to both the winter storage fee and your base mooring fee.

Winter Storage Service

For the 2019-2020 Winter Storage Season, we no longer have an exclusive provider of service for Montrose and 31st Street Winter Storage. Customers may now select from any vendor who is approved for winter storage service by the Chicago Harbors.
